Humana, TPG Capital and Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe completed their acquisition of Louisville, Ky.-based post-acute care provider Kindred Healthcare for $4.1 billion in cash, including assumption of debt.
2. Shuttered 128-bed California hospital sells for $33M

Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealth Group is one of the companies exploring an acquisition of Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare's healthcare management subsidiary Conifer Health Solutions.

Tenet Healthcare entered into a definitive agreement to sell its three remaining Chicago-area hospitals, the health system announced July 18.
9. Northwell, Maimonides extend strategic partnership by 2 years
Great Neck, N.Y.-based Northwell Health and Maimonides Medical Center, a 711-bed facility in Brooklyn, N.Y., revealed their intent to extend their strategic partnership agreement for another two years, the organizations announced July 16.
10. Mission Health launches nonprofit foundation ahead of proposed HCA deal
Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health launched its nonprofit private foundation, which will be funded by proceeds from the health system's sale to Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, Mission Health announced July 16.

Through a new partnership with Steamboat Springs-based Northwest Colorado Health, South Routt Medical Center will be able to continue providing dental care to local residents.
12. 438-bed New York hospital nixes merger plans after 2-year search
