Shawano (Wis.) Medical Center has approved plans to merge with Appleton, Wis.-based ThedaCare, according to a Journal Sentinel report.
As part of the deal, ThedaCare will build a new hospital in the community and invest up to $2.8 million to install an electronic health record system at the 25-bed hospital.
The two groups have been in negotiations for six months.
