Washington's Southwest and PeaceHealth Finalize Merger, Create New Nonprofit

After finalizing their merger, Vancouver, Wash.-based Southwest Washington Medical Center and Bellevue, Wash.-based PeaceHealth will create a non-profit health system with approximately $2 billion in revenues according to a Columbian report.

The merging process began in March, when leaders off both non-profit systems began negotiations. PeaceHealth will move its corporate headquarters to Vancouver, bringing 340 jobs into the area. Southwest employs more than 3,000 people.

The deal is being reviewed by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission, the state Attorney General's Office and the state Insurance Commissioner's Office.
