University of California, San Francisco Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center and Enloe Medical Center in Chico, Calif., have formed an affiliation of cancer programs, according to a news release.
The affiliation aims to increase cancer prevention and access to treatment. Benefits include an expedited process for Enloe patients' entrance into UCSF clinical research trials, peer consultation for physicians deciding treatment options and educational sessions for both health professionals and community members.
UCSF is already affiliated with Mercy Medical Center in Redding, Calif., St. Helena (Calif.) Hospital and Reno, Nev.-based Renown Institute for Cancer.
