Gallipolis, Ohio-based Holzer Consolidated Health Systems will enter into a one-year administrative service agreement with Holzer Clinic, also based in Gallipolis, while the two groups explore a merger, according to a report by the Daily Sentinel.
Under the agreement, Holzer Health's CEO Brent Saunders will remain the top leader at the system, while the clinic's president Wayne Munro, MD, will become interim COO of the system in addition to remaining president of the clinic, according to the report.
The hospital system and the 130-physician group practice will work to establish an integrated health system with the intention of fully merging in 12 to 18 months, according to the report.
