North Country Health Services in Bemidji, Minn., and Sanford Health in Fargo, N.D. and Sioux Falls, S.D., have announced plans to merge, according to a Sanford news release.
The NCHS Board of Trustees signed a letter of intent, and the Sanford Board of Trustees, after approving the direction of the agreement, is expected to sign the document during Friday’s board meeting.
Non-profit Sanford Health has 30 hospitals and more than 18,000 employees — the largest employer in North and South Dakota. NCHS is an acute-care hospital with approximately 80 beds.
