Michigan's Bronson, Battle Creek Integration Could Bring Battle Creek Into Plans for Medical School

Kalamazoo-based Bronson Healthcare Group and Battle Creek (Mich.) Health System are currently working toward integrating, which could now include a partnership with Western Michigan University and Borgess Health, both located in Kalamazoo, to develop a medical school, according to a Business Review West Michigan report.
In December, Bronson announced it planned to acquire a 51 percent stake in Battle Creek. Bronson had previously discussed partnering with WMU and Borgess to develop a medical school in Kalamazoo, and Battle Creek is now joining the discussion, evaluating whether it could play a possible role in the new school, according to the report.

If the plans move forward, Battle Creek physicians would be able to hold teaching and research roles at the new school.
