The merger of University Physicians Hospital, University Medical Center and the University of Arizona College of Medicine is expected to be complete within six months, according to an Arizona Daily Star report.
Tucson, Ariz.-based hospitals and medical school will come together to form UA Healthcare. The move is intended to streamline efficiencies and allow the group to be more competitive.
The groups are currently searching for a CEO to run the new entity. He or she would begin work on July 1, 2011, according to the report.
