Hutcheson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., will begin partnership negotiations with Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Erlanger Health, according to a Chattanooga Times Free Press report.
The two groups will now enter a 60-day due diligence period.
Hutcheson's board picked Erlanger over Chattanooga-based Memorial Health Care to help turnaround the struggling health system. The hospital lost $7.3 million in 2009, according to the report.
