The Federal Trade Commission has approved the partnership between Stockbridge, Ga.-based Henry Medical Center and Atlanta-based Piedmont Healthcare, according to a joint news release.
With the FTC's early termination, the merger between the two healthcare organizations is compliant with antitrust law, although terms of the deal were not disclosed.
HMC and Piedmont are expected to finalize the merger terms in the next three to four months and are projected to go live with the new entity by Jan. 2012, the release said.
