Florida Hospitals, Shands HealthCare and UF Ally Through Heart and Stroke Program

Brooksville (Fla.) Regional Hospital, Spring Hill (Fla.) Regional Hospital, Gainesville, Fla.-based Shands HealthCare and the University of Florida have formed an alliance through the Heart and Stroke Emergency Specialists program, according to a news release by the Brooksville hospital.

Through the program, the community hospitals will have access to the University's physicians, protocols and resources, including continuing education opportunities. The hospital's patients will also receive transfer benefits at Shands at UF, the system's academic medical center.

The alliance also includes Seven Rivers Regional Medical Center in Crystal River, Fla., and Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center in Davenport, Fla.
