Cleveland Clinic's cardiac surgery program has signed an affiliation agreement with Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield, Ill., designed to improve heart care at the 313-bed hospital and increase Cleveland Clinic patient referrals, according to a report by The Chicago Tribune.
As advances in technology and increased used of medications provide patients alternatives to heart surgery, Cleveland Clinic is reaching out nationwide for patients.
The affiliation will let doctors and patients access Cleveland Clinic research and clinical trials, as well as send patients to Cleveland Clinic when the cases are too complex for Central DuPage.
