California's Long Beach City Council voted to shift its lease with Community Hospital of Long Beach to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, according to a Gazettes report.
The lease is planned to shift by April 1, which would allow Long Beach Memorial to pay Community Hospital's estimated $2 million liability to the California Hospital Fee Program.
The lease shift is part of Community Hospital and Long Beach Memorial's merger, which is slated to be complete by June. Long Beach Memorial is part of Fountain Valley, Calif.-based MemorialCare Health System.
