Ardent Health Services, a Nashville, Tenn.-based hospital operator will purchase Youngstown, Ohio-based Forum Health for $69.8 million, according to a report by the Nashville Business Journal.
Forum Health owns three hospitals in Youngstown — Northside Medical Center, Trumbull Memorial Hospital and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital. As part of the deal, Ardent, which currently operates eight hospitals, has agreed to invest at least $50 million over five years to renovate the Ohio hospitals, according to the report.
Forum filed for bankruptcy in March 2009. The deal is contingent on no other buyers making offers of at least $3.5 million more than the Ardent offer, according to the report.
