Many physicians are lining up a plan of action in case millions of Americans lose federal subsidies on health insurance, according to Reuters.
The Supreme Court begins its hearing of King v. Burwell today and the decision is not expected until late June. The White House believes the Court will uphold the law, but many physicians told Reuters they are preparing for the worst case scenario.
Physicians are making plans to send patients to free clinics, negotiating with pharmaceutical companies for discounted drugs, stocking up on free drug samples, encouraging patients to find out if they are eligible for Medicaid or other insurance programs and moving up primary care appointments and procedures while patients still have insurance, according to the report.
