St. Paul (Minn.) Heart Clinic will dissolve on Jan. 1, and its 31 physicians will join either Minneapolis-based Allina Hospitals & Clinics or St. Paul-based HealthEast Care System, according to a Star Tribune report.
Nineteen cardiologists will join Allina, while 12 will join HealthEast.
The closure of the practice is due to the need for improved efficiency of scale in order to remain viable given reimbursement levels and the cost of doing business, according to the report.
