St. Louis-based SSM Health Care has acquired multispecialty medical group Shawnee (Okla.) Medical Center Clinic.

Effective June 17, the 27-physician medical group with 220 employees and 13 midlevel providers will become part of SSM Health Care of Oklahoma. The practice will be renamed St. Anthony Physicians Shawnee.
“We are both pleased and humbled that the Shawnee Medical Center Clinic has made the decision to be part of SSM Health Care, and we welcome all physicians and clinic staff,” SSM CEO Bill Thompson said in a statement.
