Pittsburgh-based West Penn Allegheny Health System has reached an agreement with three physicians, ending the health system's efforts to enforce a non-compete agreement that would prevent the physicians from working for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, according to a Pittsburgh Business Times report.
The system reached a settlement with Jennifer Stasko, MD, Kenney Plowey, DO, and Shawn Naseem, MD. Details of the settlement were not disclosed.
West Penn had agreed to transfer the three physicians and their practices to Premier Medical Associates, but the physicians were unable to reach new contracts. West Penn sought an injunction in March because their new offices were less than five miles from their old ones — violating the terms of employment contracts they had signed when hired.
