Palos Community Hospital in Palos Heights, Ill., and Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Ill., announced Thursday plans to affiliate to establish a network of care that gives patients access to both primary care and specialized services, such as neurosciences and oncology.
Palos Community Hospital will remain independent. The systems will provide complementary services and share an EHR to enhance coordination and reduce duplicative services.
The affiliation will also provide Loyola University Medical Center residents with additional training and educational opportunities and in the future, could make way for expanded outpatient services in the southwest Chicago suburbs, according to a statement.
The affiliation is effective immediately.
