Ohio State University's private physician practice, OSU Physicians, will join OSU Medical Center, according to a report by the Columbus Dispatch.
The deal will bring OSU Physicians' 617 physicians to OSU Medical Center and is intended to streamline integrated care and electronic health record adoption. The move will also increase the hospital's negotiating power with payors as all of the physicians' revenues will come to the hospital, according to the report.
The hospital will spend the next few months negotiating contracts with each physician-member of the practice, according to the report.
