White Plains Hospital in Westchester, N.Y., recently acquired White Plains Surgical Specialists, a nine-physician practice, according to a Crain's Health Pulse report.
The practice will join White Plains Hospital Physician Associates, which is now comprised of three physician practices: the surgical specialists group, a two-physician obstetrics practice and a three-surgeon orthopedics group.
The hospital doesn't have a specific target for the number of physicians to hire for its new physician division. The model was designed to further physician employment in a way that is not competitive with the hospital's other physicians, according to the report.
