The National Committee for Quality Assurance is taking input from the public on proposed changes to its Patient-Centered Medical Home Recognition program.
NCQA is proposing changes to its PCMH standards and guidelines to place a greater emphasis on outcomes measures. According to an NCQA news release, the changes would also:
• Incorporate a streamlined file review.
• Improve applicability of the standards to pediatric practices.
• Promote integration of primary and behavioral healthcare.
• Align with meaningful use stage 2 requirements.
The public comment period began June 17 and will remain open until 5 p.m. Eastern time July 22.
NCQA expects to launch the updated PCMH program in March 2014.
