St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pa., and Philadelphia-based Nazareth Hospital are joining together to expand patient access to cardiovascular care services in northeast Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Both hospitals are part of the Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health system. Under the terms of the partnership, interventional cardiologists from St. Mary Medical Center will be available onsite at Nazareth Hospital to perform emergency and scheduled cardiac catheterization procedures, according to the report. Each year, cardiologists at St. Mary perform more than 3,000 catheterization procedures.
Mrugesh Patel, MD, from St. Mary will serve as medical director of Nazareth's heart and vascular lab.
