Las Vegas-based MountainView Hospital celebrated its 20th anniversary on Feb. 1.
Here are seven things to know about the hospital.
1. In honor of its anniversary, MountainView Hospital received a proclamation from the City of Las Vegas, which proclaimed Feb. 1 as MountainView Hospital 20th Anniversary Day.
2. Since its 1996 opening, MountainView has grown from a 120-bed, 400-employee hospital to a 340-bed, 1,400-employee facility.
3. The hospital has a variety of nationally recognized programs, including The Spine Program at MountainView Hospital and the Las Vegas Institute for Robotic Surgery.
4. The first baby boy and girl born at MountainView on Feb. 1 received gift baskets, courtesy of Babies R Us.
5. On Feb. 27, the hospital will host the MountainView Cares community health fair. The fair will be filled with vendors, an anniversary cake and a photo booth.
6. The hospital's 20th year will include community expansion efforts, as it will welcome its first class of resident physicians in July as part of its new Graduate Medical Education program.
7. Later this month, MountainView Hospital will break ground on a $90 million, multi-phase campus expansion. The project will add a variety of features, including 64 beds and a Level III NICU.
