McLaren Medical Group, a subsidiary of Flint, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care, plans to purchase Mid-Michigan Physicians, a 70-physiciain multispecialty group based in Lansing Township, according to a Lansing State Journal report.
The two groups have signed a letter of intent, and the deal could be finalized by July, according to the report.
Mid-Michigan Physicians approached McLaren Health about the transaction, as it wanted to integrate electronic health records and share human resources and purchasing services, the LSJ reported.
In addition to the group's 70 physicians, Mid-Michigan Physicians has 30 physician assistants and nurse practitioners and employs 400 people total.
