Rockville, Md.-based Adventist Healthcare has given up some corporate control and formed a joint venture with a group of 700 independent physicians based in Washington, D.C., to expand the Adventist physician base, according to a practice news release.
Consisting of physicians in 48 specialties, George Washington Medical Faculty Associates is the largest independent physician group in metropolitan Washington. It will be primarily responsible for business functions and contracting with physicians in the joint venture.
Under the agreement, all current and future Adventist physicians will be employees of the new joint venture and will be overseen by both Adventist and the MFA
Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
