The Medical Group Management Association recently asked 800 group practice professionals to rank seven of the largest health insurers on willingness to participate in payment innovation and professionals' perceptions of the payors.
The findings are part of MGMA's 2012 Payor Study, which is the fifth edition of the poll. Here are the key findings related to payment reform.
How willing is the payor to engage in innovative payment models or offer innovative contracts based on concepts such as accountable care, shared savings, medical homes or payment bundling?
Payors were ranked upon a five-point scale. A score of one reflects "completely unwilling," three is "neutral" and five is "completely willing."
