Florida Atlantic University's medical school names new dean from Harvard

Florida Atlantic University's Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine has named Phillip Boiselle, MD, dean, according to the Sun Sentinel.

Dr. Boiselle will take the helm of the Boca Raton-based medical school in January 2017.

Previously, Dr. Boiselle worked at Boston-based Harvard Medical School as a radiology professor and associate dean for academic and clinical affairs, a position he had maintained since 2012.

"I've been given the opportunity to lead the College of Medicine during a pivotal time of growth," he said, according to the report. "The College of Medicine has had a terrific launch. I want to build on its initial success."

FAU's medical school welcomed its first class in 2011.
