Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis has announced that Anthony Fauci, MD, will be its spring commencement speaker.
"Like Fauci, the graduating class of new physicians he will address has gone through experiences that none expected the last few years as they trained during the height of the pandemic," a Feb. 16 press release noted.
Now retired, Dr. Fauci served as an adviser to seven U.S. presidents and led the nation's response to HIV/AIDS as well as the COVID-19 pandemic as director of the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
The ceremony will take place May 15.
