Chicago's Swedish Covenant Breaks Ground on Joint Venture Surgery Center

Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago has broken ground on a new ambulatory surgery center and medical office building on its campus, according to a report from the Lincolnwood Review, a Chicago Sun-Times publication.

The ASC is a partnership between Swedish Covenant, Regent Surgical Health and 23 physician-partners. It will feature three operating rooms for outpatient procedures. Swedish Covenant Surgical Center will provide specialties including general surgery, orthopedics, podiatry, pain management, ophthalmology and urology, according to earlier reports.

The ASC is included in the new eight-story, 238,000-square-foot Foster Medical Pavilion.

Construction is expected to complete in July 2012.
