BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation has provided a $275,000 grant to train family physicians in child wellness exams, according to a Tennessean report.
The Tennessee Pediatric Society Foundation is the recipient of the award, which will be used to train nearly 4,000 family physicians and help them better identify conditions in children that might otherwise be overlooked.
Family physicians are the focus of the initiative because they are the primary care providers for 700,000 children covered by TennCare.
