Point of Care Network, a network of U.S.-based nurse practitioners and physician assistants, launched an online nomination portal allowing NPs and PAs to recognize advanced practitioners.
The portal, called America's Top NPs and PAs, will enable the clinicians to nominate their peers for recognition, starting at the American Academy of Physician Assistants Annual Conference in Las Vegas, from May 16 to May 18.
There are currently over 335,000 NPs and PAs in the country, according to data from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. While these advanced practitioners have been able to nominate colleagues and peers for Top Doctor recognitions, America's Top NPs and PAs is the first sole recognition for advanced practitioners in their own profession. Physicians can also nominate NPs and PAs for the recognition.
Nominees will be recognized based on a number of factors, including clinical achievements as well as empathy displayed when dealing with patients.
