The 41 physicians leaving Novant Health are reportedly joining a medical group based in Kingsport, Tenn., The Charlotte Observer reports.
In a Jan. 24 statement obtained by The Charlotte Observer, Holston Medical Group confirmed it is working with the 41 physicians to help them return to private practice.
"Holston Medical Group (HMG) is working on details around a partnership with physicians who recently provided their notice to Novant Health of their intent to leave the health system's medical group to return to private practice," the medical group said.
A spokesperson for the Winston-Salem, N.C.-based health system confirmed to Becker's Hospital Review Jan. 23 that the physicians were leaving Novant's medical group, and said the system would share more information once the negotiations are finalized.
Novant Health previously told The Charlotte Observer it employs roughly 900 physicians in the Charlotte, N.C., area.
