San Diego Physicians Medical Group, Encinitas, Calif.-based Connect-the-Docs Multi Specialty Network and La Jolla, Calif.-based XIMED Medical Group have joined to create a physician group partnering with San Diego-based Scripps Health, according to an article on the KUSI News website.
The group will be called Scripps Physicians Medical Group and includes more than 500 primary care and specialty physicians with offices across the country.
Scripps Physicians Medical Group and Scripps Health will partner in managed care and PPO insurance contracts. Scripps Physicians also recently signed its first payer contract with Health Net for Medicare Advantage managed care in collaboration with Scripps Health, according to the article.
"We believe that by creating this new dynamic organization, between our physicians and the Scripps Health system that will have the talent and resources to provide high quality, affordable healthcare," Marc Sedwitz, MD, president of XIMED Medical Group told KUSI News.
