Windham Community Memorial Hospital in Willimantic, Conn., will soon lay off 21 workers from the hospital's billing and transcription department, according to a Norwich Bulletin report.
The cuts come as the hospital anticipates reduced payments of $1.2 million from government health programs. A handful of the workers were offered positions with the outsourced billing company that provides services to Windham's parent, Hartford Hospital, according to the report.
