Roanoke, Va.-based Carilion Clinic's new ad campaign made its debut Sunday during the NFL championship.
The commercial compares images of a man, working on a rural farm, with Carilion Clinic physicians and employees working at the health system.
"They said we were too small. Too far. Too rural," the ad says. "They said we couldn't be an innovator or a leading voice in healthcare. They said we'd never be one of the best … They don't say that anymore."
Nancy Agee, CEO of Carilion Clinic, told Becker's the commercial focuses on "the men and women who, day in and day out, work their hardest — especially when times are tough — to make us who we are: a leading integrated healthcare delivery system that is committed, above all else, to our patients and our community."
Ms. Agee said Carilion Clinic leadership shared the commercial with all 13,000 employees on Friday.
"This commercial is the embodiment of why I get up every morning and do what I do," one employee said in response to the ad. "[A]t the end of the day, if what I am doing can help even a single patient, then it will be worth it."
