Bill Sugg, president and CEO of Valley County Health System in Ord, Neb., was placed on investigatory suspension just days before the system completed a recent ownership transition for Valley View Living Center, its long-term care facility, according to a Grand Island Independent report.
Mr. Sugg, who was hired for the position in August 2012, has been on leave since June 26.
The VCHS board of trustees learned of allegations against Mr. Sugg in early June and hired an independent investigator to look into the matter, board chairman Gary Garnick said in the report. In the report, Mr. Garnick did not disclose who is leading the investigation or what it involves.
As part of the suspension, Mr. Sugg is not completing his day-to-day duties, but he is being paid, according to Mr. Garnick. The Grand Island Independent was not able to immediately reach Mr. Sugg for comment.
Finance Director Ashley Woodward is currently serving as interim CEO.
