Two hospitals within Pittsburgh-based West Penn Allegheny Health System have reverted back to their original names, according to a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review report.
Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights is now again Allegheny Valley Hospital.
West Penn Hospital-Forbes Regional in Monroeville is once again Forbes Regional Hospital.
The system decided to restore original names to the hospital because patients are more familiar with them and respect them more. "In terms of naming, we found that simpler really is better," WPAHS spokesperson Kelly Sorice said in the report.
