Truveta appoints Dr. Rod Hochman board chair

Truveta, a 30-plus health system collective focused on digital transformation, named Rod Hochman, MD, its new board of directors chair.

Dr. Hochman is president and CEO of Renton, Wash.-based Providence and was instrumental in forming Truveta four years ago. Since then he has continued to provide strategic guidance and support for the collective.

"The world needs Truveta because information is key to solving healthcare problems. With Truveta, we have a national de-identified dataset, representative of the diversity of our country, from which we can learn faster to improve care in our communities," said Dr. Hochman in a news release. "I have been amazed by the progress of the team in such a short amount of time, and I look forward to contributing to the board as its new chair and helping Truveta support its members and customers in our collective mission of saving lives with data."

The health systems within Truveta's collective provide more than 18% of daily clinical care in the U.S. Truveta has information from more than 100 million patients and shares regulatory-grade EHR data for members to conduct research. The collective's database is also used by more than 60 leading life sciences, government, health system, academic and research organizations.
