President Donald Trump said he believes the Supreme Court will eventually affirm a district court decision that deemed the ACA unconstitutional, leaving lawmakers to craft a new healthcare policy, according to The Hill.
U.S. District Judge Reed O'Connor ruled Dec. 14 that the ACA and its individual mandate are unconstitutional. The ruling is being appealed by the attorneys general of multiple Democratic-led states, though some legal experts believe the case will one day be heard in the Supreme Court.
"That case from Texas should win in the Supreme Court," said President Trump. "We should win at the Supreme Court, where this case will go. When we do, we will sit down with the Democrats and we will come up with great healthcare."
