If Republican candidate Donald Trump were to become president, he may have trouble getting policy experts on board, even those who have served past Republican administrations, according to Politico.
James Capretta, an associate director who oversaw healthcare programs in the White House Office of Management and Budget during the George W. Bush administration, told Politico he would not serve in a Trump administration because "[t]he person at the top is unfit for the presidency."
Lanhee Chen, PhD, former policy director for Mitt Romney and advisor to Marco Rubio, declined to comment, but said Mr. Trump may face challenges in finding willing administrators, particularly among mainstream policy wonks, according to the report.
Politico interviewed nearly 60 Republican political leaders to gauge their interest in their party's nominee across various agencies and heard similar sentiments.
