Akron, Ohio-based Summa Health on Tuesday revealed a new logo and brand strategy, according to Crain's Cleveland Business.
It's been 15 years since the health system last updated its brand. The newest change aims to reflect Summa Health's ongoing efforts to transform healthcare delivery in its community.
"In recent months, we’ve seen our accountable care organization recognized as a national leader, our nursing staff again achieve Magnet status, and, most recently, the announcement of our $350 million facilities plan," Thomas A. Malone, MD, president and CEO of Summa Health, said in a statement. "Through the new brand, we are sending a clear message to the community and to our own employees that something special and unique is happening at Summa."
The system's new logo, which represents the continuum of care Summa Health provides, was developed after various studies and focus groups to understand the public's perception of the health system, according to the report.
Summa Health will implement the changes gradually, beginning with an advertising campaign next week and updated marketing materials and website. New signage will be installed at all Summa Health locations over the coming several months, according to the report.
Summa Health leaders clarified the system will not change its name.
