Saint Anne's Hospital in Fall River, Mass. — part of Boston-based Steward Healthcare — laid off an unspecified number of employees this week, according to a Herald News report.
Steward spokesperson Christopher Murphy said the hospital is undergoing a minor reduction in its staffing levels, and did not provide a precise figure of how many workers had been eliminated or which positions they had held.
Mr. Murphy explained the layoffs are not system-wide and are specific to Saint Anne's, a 106-bed community hospital.
