St. Elizabeth Medical Center in New York Announces Layoffs

St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica, N.Y., has announced plans to eliminate less than 10 positions from eight different departments.

The hospital said the staff reductions were prompted by decreased reimbursement. The cuts will amount to less than 1 percent of the hospital's 1,975-person staff. No registered nurses will be affected.
