Two top executives of South Shore Health, a two-hospital nonprofit system in South Weymouth, Mass., were placed on administrative leave due to "operational and administrative issues," local newspaper The Patriot Ledger reports.
Gene Green, MD, president and CEO, and Wayne Stockbridge, chief administrative and human resources officer, were placed on leave Aug. 12, according to the report. The suspensions come days after the resignation of South Shore Hospital President Pamela Whelton. Ms. Whelton was on the job for just four months when she resigned but had a 22-year career with the system. No reason was given for her resignation, according to the report.
Officials are reviewing the issues, which the hospital board expects to take several weeks. Former South Shore Health executive Rose Di Pietro, MSN, RN, will serve as acting CEO, according to the report. Ms. Di Pietro retired in 2018 from her post as chief transformation officer and president of home and community care.
