Simi Valley (Calif.) Hospital plans to rebrand as Adventist Health Simi Valley, according to a Ventura County Star report.
Here are four things to know.
1. The name change would reflect the hospital's owner, Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health.
2. Jennifer Swenson, president and CEO of Simi Valley Hospital, told the Ventura County Star the rebranding is "to really emphasize that we are more than just a hospital." She added: "We want to impact the lives of our community in a positive way. Our focus is not just caring for those people in the four walls of the hospital."
3. The rebranding comes as Adventist hospitals are "adopting a new universal mission statement and emphasizing their roles as networks," according to the report.
4. The state must still sign off on the name change for Simi Valley Hospital, but, if everything goes smoothly, the change is slated to take effect this summer, according to the report.
