Silverton (Ore.) Health will eliminate approximately 35 positions following its projection of a $3 million budget shortfall by the end of its fiscal year, according to an Appeal Tribune report.
The cuts represent 3.5 percent of the system workforce. Silverton, an independent system including a 48-bed hospital, employs about 900 people.
System President Rick Cagen said Silverton has never experienced reductions of this size and that it does not take the decision lightly.
