President-elect Donald Trump has selected John Brooks as the leader of his HHS landing team, Politico reported Dec. 17.
Mr. Brooks, a former senior Medicare official from Mr. Trump's first term, later served as an adviser to former HHS Secretary Alex Azar on drug pricing reform. The appointment was confirmed by three people granted anonymity by Politico.
The identities of others on the landing team, which prepares the incoming administration for the transition, have been "closely held within the health department," Politico reported.
"As per the Transition MOU with the Biden Administration, the White House is receiving the names of those serving on landing teams," Brian Hughes, spokesperson for the Trump-Vance transition, told Politico. "The landing team members are connecting with their counterparts at the departments and agencies."
Mr. Brooks has been a partner at a health policy research and consulting firm since 2020, according to his LinkedIn profile.
