Phoenix Children's Hospital opens pediatric genomic research & precision medicine institute

Phoenix Children's Hospital announced the opening of The Chan Soon-Shiong Children's Precision Medicine Institute, which is focused on pediatric genomics research and personalized therapies.

The institute will bring together the expertise and resources of Patrick Soon-Shiong, MD, healthcare entrepreneur and founder of NANTHealth, with Phoenix Children's Hospital. The institute aims to apply the latest genomic and proteomic technology to identify precision diagnoses, treatments and cures for pediatric patients.

Through NANTHealth, Dr. Soon-Shiong is helping build an integrated, evidence-based, genomically-informed, personalized approach to care delivery for adults. The precision medicine institute at Phoenix Children's will help develop approaches for children that are genomically-informed and evidence-based as well.
