Louisville, Ky.-based Norton Healthcare and Lexington, Ky.-based UK HealthCare have singed an agreement to develop clinical partnerships and expand services, according to a joint news release by the organizations.
The decision to formalize their ongoing alliances in clinical programs, workforce, education and research comes after leadership from both organizations met to discuss ways to improve access of care for Kentucky residents.
The affiliation is expected to strengthen clinical programs including cancer care, neuroscience, cardiology and transplantation; expand teaching programs; expand children's health programs; and move forward Norton's plans to develop an accountable care organization.
